The Dressing Room

Your arms are full
Your spirits high
So much to choose
So much to try

Want something to flatter
Want something with glitz
You'll go through them all
Til you find one that fits

Some sleeves are too long
Some pants are too tight
Certain colors seem off
Certain styles seem trite

You gaze in the mirror
Seems you found your look
You ignore what remains
Leaving them on the hook

You make your purchase
And exit the shop
You head straight home
Without making a stop

You open your bag
And soon feel regret
You've done this before
There's no reason to fret

Return to the store
Get money back
Fill up your wallet
And return to the rack

The Gift

Paint me a garden
And I'll pick you a rose
Hand me the moon
And I'll give you the stars
Offer me a rainbow
And I'll color your world
Bottle me the ocean
And I'll quench your thirst

Write me a melody
And I'll sing you a song
Catch me the wind
And I'll move your soul
Capture me sunlight
And I'll warm your heart
Promise me tomorrow
And I'll give you forever

The Last Show

Curtain rose
I froze
Mind blank
Heart sank

Eyes upon me
Full of fright
I cannot see
Lights are bright

Beads of sweat
Trembling hands
Much regret
Spoiled plans

Want to sink
Cannot think
Mind blank
Heart sank

Farewell

No longer can I hear you
You've gone mute in my head
The song is finally over
The radio's gone dead

No longer can I see you
I've changed the channel in my mind
The show is finally over
The ending was unkind

The credits roll
The speakers hiss
The picture fades
Silence is bliss

No more to hear
No more to view
Exit on the right
I'm done with you

The Weary Traveler

You've walked many a road
Seems the world's worn you out
Calm are your actions
Yet I hear your heart shout

Your feet must be tired
Your shoes they are worn
Seems you have a direction
Yet appear to be torn

Sit still for awhile
I'll make you some tea
Whatever your troubles
You can surely tell me

Sing me your song
And I'll be your ear
If it's shelter you seek
You can gladly stay here

My home it is humble
But it is safe and quite warm
I sure hope you'll rest here
Seems you've weathered a storm
